Selling at Wannenes

Selling at Wannenes auctions is simple and exciting. Here is how to do it in a few simple steps.

1. REQUEST AN EVALUATION

Have you ever wondered how much a work of art you own is worth? The first step is to contact us to obtain a free and confidential valuation from our Specialists. You can write to or call our Valuation Service directly: valutazioni@wannenesgroup.com +39 02 38 26 33 88 If you prefer to contact us online, you can enter the Valuation Service section that you will find on our website, indicating your details and providing the information about the works that you will be asked for. Don’t forget to prepare a few pictures so that you can attach them when the time comes. Please note that not everything is suitable for auction. We will only take into consideration those works that are considered interesting in terms of type and value. If this is the case, you will receive a valuation and will be contacted for an appointment to examine the works and discuss all the details of a possible auction sale. Our valuations are of course subject to confirmation after direct examination by our Specialists.

2. CONSIGNING A WORK OF ART

Once you have received confirmation of our valuation, you will be able to discuss the details of the consignment with our Specialists and agree the auction estimate and sales commission. If you decide to consign an item to our Auction House, you will be asked to sign a Consignment Agreement, which will specify all the details of the agreement, the commission for our service and the reserve price below which it will not be possible to sell each item entrusted. The sales commission is set in the terms of a fixed percentage calculated on the hammer prices and includes the costs of photographic reproductions, marketing and insurance. Ancillary costs, such as transport, restoration, certification, etc., may be included and will be agreed and specified in the sales mandate. If a public auction sale is not the best solution for you, we can offer you an alternative solution through our Private Sales service.

3. YOUR WORKS ARE FOR SALE

After the agreement has been signed, we will advise or assist you in all stages of delivering the items to our offices. During the preparation of the auction, the works will be thoroughly reviewed by our specialists, photographed and carefully catalogued. As soon as available, you will receive a hard or digital copy of the auction catalogue in which your works have been included, together with a document indicating which lot numbers they correspond to. You are welcome to attend both the pre-auction exhibition and the sale. If you are unable to attend in person, you can follow the auction from the comfort of your computer or smartphone by simply registering as a user on our website.

4. THE AUCTION HAS ENDED

After the auction, you will receive a document summarising all the sales data, with the individual hammer prices and the calculation of the agreed commission for our service. WANNENES will then act on your behalf to obtain payment from the buyers. Once payment has been made, we will pay the final net amount to you, which will be sent approximately 35 working days after the date of the auction. If your artwork does not sell, we will contact you to discuss re-selling your artwork or to arrange for its return.
