A VERY FINE FAMILLE ROSE EIGHT IMMORTALS RUBY GROUND VASE, CHINA, EARLY REPUBLIC PERIOD (1912-1949) SEAL SIX-CHARACTERS MARK OF QIANLONG
Of oviform form rising from a flat foot to a waisted neck and to a slightly flared mouth, finely painted with a continuous scene framing a procession of the Eight Daoist Immortals accompanied by young servants in a landscape surrounded by pine trees and rocky outcroppings, all reserved on a purple ground colorfully enameled with floral scrolls and flanked in high relief, by twin magnificent molded handles shaped as auspicious bats with their wings spread touched in black, red and gilt. The interior and base glazed turquoise with a seal six characters reign mark in iron-red enamel. In very good condition, with very minor firing imperfection and very minor wear on the surface and enamels.
