In 1963, Alfa Romeo presented the first Giulia Sprint GT, designed by Bertone and a very young Giugiaro. It was created to replace the Giulia Sprint 1600, while maintaining the elegant bodywork and classic engine position. Thanks to its attractive lines and excellent road performance, this sporty coupe quickly became one of the most sought-after cars of that period.
Over the years, several models were produced, until 1966, when the 1.3 GT Junior version was presented. The idea for this model was to win over younger customers thanks to its low cost. To obtain this result, a lower displacement engine was installed and some final additions were reduced without compromising the beauty and elegance of the car itself. What the car manufacturer could not foresee was that this model would soon represent the majority of GTs sold and that it would remain the most loved one.
This magnificent 1971 model is the first series of GTs without the iconic step. It is fitted instead with the front of the 1750 GT Veloce with only two headlamps moved to the edges to make room for the shield typical of all Alfa Romeo cars. The car has covered only 35,938 km indicated on the odometer, is beautiful leather-coloured interior. It has undergone a conservative restoration that involved the bodywork and mechanics. The dashboard was redone entirely in genuine leather in 2012. The car is in excellent condition ready to be driven and enjoyed.
