A FINE CARVED WHITE JADE SNUFF BOTTLE, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, PERIOD OF QIANLONG (1736-1795), TOGETHER WITH FIVE OTHER 19TH CENTURY SNUFF BOTTLES (6)
The white jade snuff bottle of flattened pear-shape tapering to a waisted neck with flat lip, the recessed foot surrounded by a foot-rim, carved with a fine scrolls motif enclosing at the centre on both sides the Shou character, the stone of a translucent white color and with a jadeite stopper. Together with a pair of cylindrical porcelain snuff bottle, one porcelain snuff bottle painted in copper-red, one in Peking glass with red dragon on relief and another snuff bottle in porcelain decorated with figures and with an apocryphal Qianlong mark on the base. In very good conditions, with very minor surface wear and scratches, some stopper are missing and the copper-red snuff bottle with a chip on the base. The white jade snuff bottle in very good conditions, with only very few insignificant nibbles to extremities and very light surface wear and scratches.
